Rob is a self-taught sculptor, having started experimenting 15 years ago when he was off work for an extended period having suffered a slipped disc.
Rob mostly works in stone and wood, though he has tried steel.  He has also been making silver jewellery and wine goblets for the past twenty-mumble years.
Rob works very slowly and intermittently, so he doesn't take commissions.
Occasionally, when he visits the sea side, he'll pick up a pebble from the shore, carve some rudimentary facial features on it with an electric engraving tool, put his initials and the year on the underneath and then throw it back in the sea.  The idea is that the sea will toss it around enough to soften the features before someone else finds it.  Actually, the chances are no-one ever will find it, of course.
