Jackie is fascinated by faces. She has painted them for as long as
she can remember, as well as figures in general. She enjoys
experimenting with techniques used by the old masters, such as under
paintings with layers of glazes as well as working on more contemporary,
immediate pieces.
Jackie does paint other subjects, including
flowers, still life and animals but is always drawn back to people; this
is how she is most fulfilled.
Jackie generally paints on canvas
mainly in acrylics, sometimes in oils. Occasionally she experiments with
watercolours. She is available to commission – either specific
portraits from photographs, more general paintings or fine art
reproductions.
Jackie provides art lessons in North
Nottinghamshire in the form of individual tuition and block classes. The
aim of these lessons is to encourage and guide people to develop their
own style, ability and, most importantly, enjoyment.
