Jeremy Turner would like to share his latest new with you ~ from b Gallery art directory.

Recently I have been busy with a public art commission presentation and preparing and selling my carved wood ware at craft fairs. I was shortlisted for the Hayes Boatyard Public Art Commission, delivered my presentation in November, but was not selected for the commission itself. I, nevertheless earned the design fee of £500. My next job is to complete the renovation of a set of relief panels I made called the Westbury Vilage History Panels which were installed in 2001. I hope to have this work complete and the panels re-installed by March 2013. By the Spring or Summer of 2013 I hope to have more details of the Great Linford Canalside Commissions for which I have been selected and which await planning permission from the landowners concerned. Meanwhile I continue with my personal art work and the production of new items of carved woodware. Other work planned is some teaching with a home education group in January and a woodcarving project next summer with a youth group in Aylesbury. I am not planning any exhibitions at present, although I may take part in the Core Group exhibition in Buckingham in June.

b Gallery welcomes the amazing talents of David Thomas to our online art directory

I was born in Devon and later moved to Yorkshire, where I now live. For many years I followed two careers, as an architect and as an artist, but in1998 took early retirement in order to be able to spend more time painting. My work has appeared in various Yorkshire galleries, and also for several years at the Sadler Street Gallery in Wells. I am a watercolourist. I have taken part in the Sunday Times/Singer and Friedlander Watercolour Competition, and my portrait of Morydd, a Welsh farmer, was accepted for the Open Exhibition of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. At last year's Patchings Art Festival I received both the Hahnemuhle and the Daler-Rowney award. Many of my paintings have been commissions, both landscapes and portraits (including house portraits).

All the paintings displayed here can be obtained from me as glicee prints.

The painting of Whitby is appearing in the Beverley Open Art exhibition, starting on 8th December and running through till February.

I paint out of the colour themselves. I don't plan anything but allow each colour their own expression and then adding colours and balancing them out creates a colour dialogue where it is the objective nature of colour themselves that "tells" how they like to be painted.

b Gallery art directory ~ Welcomes the amazing talents of Monte Wright

THE WORK OF MONTE WRIGHT

Painter and artiste extraordinaire, Monte herein establishes himself once again as an artistic force to be reckoned with. The artist’s work has changed greatly over the years, and is seldom simple. He courageously goes beyond the given and familiar, pioneering new techniques and materials in order to expand his own vision.

A master of color, Monte is equally adept in his use of pure white in his paintings. The artist’s intent is to block out the outside world in order to give the viewer space in which to roam freely. He teaches us that a painting should not end on the canvas. It should encourage viewers to create worlds of their own. And, with each and every brushstroke Monte’s work allows us to do just that.

Monte continues to show his work both nationally and internationally. His interests continue to vary in scope, from contemporary, abstract art to a series of works called ‘Behind the Mask”

EXPRESSIONISM by Monte Wright

Monte Wright is an internationally recognized artist. In 2010 and 2011 his art has been shown in New York, N. Y.; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Florence, Italy; London, England; and Argentina.
Monte is a mixed-media artist from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, who has shown his work for over four decades. He is well-known in Waterloo Region for his expansive murals and unique art forms. He considers himself a futurist who has always explored new and imaginative concepts. His paintings may be found in many collections throughout Ontario, parts of Canada and the United States.
Over the years, Monte has been influenced by his Christian beliefs, our natural environment and societal issues. His images welcome the mysteries of form and space through the interplay of light and shadow.
He believes that the spiritual co-existence between humankind and our earth express mystery, energy and life. He illustrates this through textured, mixed-media panels and computer-generated prints.

These expressionist, action works are objective views of our place in the universe. Subject matter is secondary to the exploration of line, space and texture which often explore the third dimension.

Monte is also noted for a series of work called “Behind the Mask”. These unique creations explore our relationship to others through colourful canvases, symbiotic collages and internationally-themed computer prints.

To see more of Monte's work and have the opportunity of purchasing direct from Monte himself ~ Please follow the link below where you will be taken directly to Monte's own exhibition area at b Gallery art directory ~ Thank you

b Gallery art directory welcomes the amazing talents of Darney Willis

Personal Description: I began a serious interest in painting in the summer of 1967. I have been able to do some painting, and a lot of thinking about visual art concerns both formally and philosophically, and a lot of teaching visual art concerns ever since. I earned a Master of Fine Arts, in Painting, from the Univ. of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ar., USA, in 1983; a Master of Arts, in Digital Media from the Univ. of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ar.,USA, in 1998. I am teaching in the Art Department of NW Arkansas Community College where I started teaching in 1990. I live in NW Arkansas with my wife and two of our seven children in a beautiful house, Castle Gate, that I built with the help of my older son and one of my daughters and has been a major studio project for the last 6 years. I am also building a large painting studio which is still waiting to be finished. I am also a five-fold ministry prophet in a local ecclesia.

Work Description: I paint large scale canvases with bold invented color - lyrical and very expressive color passages of natural images viewed so very close up only part of the external contours of the particular images are seen. I don't use the internal natural details normally seen with such a view.
Currently I am painting flower images, mainly from the iris flower. These images are meant to be something other than visual illusions or mimics of iris flowers - they are intended to be metaphors or doorways into visual, emotional, and sometimes even spiritual journeys - into flowerscapes of peace, order, beauty, and unity. They are metaphors of the human condition, of the magnificent yet fragile nature of our humanity and our constant dependence on our Creator for inspiration, protection, nurturing, and restoration. I realize humans are capable of extremely ugly horrible cruel things also, which is worth addressing in paint as well. Presently my work is both a joyful celebration of living, having purpose on this earth, and bearing fruit and also addressing issues that arise on the earth from mankind leaving an intimate relationship with our Creator and thus mismanaging our stewardship of the earth.

Jeremy Turner at b Gallery art directory ~ ~In Jeremy's words about his amazing talent

A gift from Mexico started it - a painted carved wooden fish. I was struck by its

crude vitality and knew I wanted to make things like this. My personal visual

language has developed from a familiarity with many carving traditions,

particularly Romanesque sculpture and Mexican Folk-Art.

Graduating as a sculptor in 1970, I started my woodcarving business with an Enterprise Allowance Scheme grant in 1985. As well as carving dishes and bowls I started doing a lot of relief carving and lettering, so that house signs and relief panels soon became an important part of my work.

What am I up to now?

I take pleasure in working with wood, how it behaves, how it cuts with

sharp tools, the smell of it. I use relief carving to unite picture

making with the physical deliberateness of carving, combine colour with the

crisp use of light and shade, and play with shape, form, pattern, and textures.

With this language and material I explore many themes: human desire and want; conflict, intolerance, and other major issues and anxieties of our time; and pattern, number and geometry in natural forms. I bring together shapes of cars, expensive watches, handbags, perfume bottles and warplanes, to evoke joy, threat, attraction and repulsion, and a wonder at the everlasting mystery of creation. Jet planes drop lipstick bombs and cars and wheels sprout leaves and flowers.

As well as making large relief carved wall pieces, I still make carved dishes, bowls, sculptural vessels, paperknives and pendants. I am always open to enquiries from people who want something made that is special and unique.

Right now I'm completing a piece called "Greening the Wheel" ready to show at next Saturday's [ 27 October] pop-up Arts&Crafts Exhibition at 21 Adelphi Street, Central Milton Keynes, MK9, 4AE

Ian Morgan at b Gallery art directory

What seems like centuries ago I was an aspiring student architect, rubbing shoulders at London University with all kinds of talented artists and designers. Unfortunately my art and design were fine but the bricks and mortar let me down so I stumbled into a commercial business life. Then a few years ago I was released from the burden of earning a living at a ripe old age and I re-found art, in particular painting, watercolour painting. What joy!

I started evening classes locally and found I loved watercolours and starting producing paintings from photos and got to grips with some of the techniques. I have progressed now getting more pleasure travelling out into our lovely countryside locally in north Hertfordshire sketching and painting in the wild. Watercolour can be the most wonderful, lyrical, satisfying medium when it works and the most frustrating and difficult medium when the force isn’t with you, but I just live it!
One of my current pleasures is painting churches - especially for people getting married there as a lasting treasure of that special day.
I sincerely hope you get as much enjoyment from browsing around my work as I have had producing them, I have invested a lot of time and “emotion” in these paintings so it means a lot to me that they are appreciated.
Please enjoy....

Susan James Dean exhibits her work at b Gallery artdirectory ~ which now can be seen around the world!

My interests involve art as a means of communication: I think the creation of something visual is an effort to make sense of the world and our experiences within it. Drawing is a primary form of expression, and although my drawings of the figure often show an intuitive and spontaneous response, they are underpinned by many years of drawing from observation.

Discovering Talented Artists at b Gallery art directory

Monday, 15 October 2012

b Gallery celebrates the artistic talents of Felix Faulkner.

Born in Zimbabwe, Felix started her training there and then went on to study jewellery and design at the Kunst und Werkschule in Pforzheim, Germany. After a short period in the workshop of Charles de Temple in London she moved to Cornwall where she set up her own workshop. Side tracked into pottery for a number of years Felix returned to the jewellery bench in 1987.

Moving to Ireland in 1995 Felix set up her studio in Knockanore - a picturesque and very rural part of County Waterford close to the River Blackwater.

Working mostly in gold, silver and bronze, sometimes including found objects - wood, pebbles, feathers etc.-most of her pieces are "one of" or variations on a theme and her designs range from purely abstract to interpretations of her surroundings while her flights of fancy can lead -- well anywhere!

Edward Vulliamy at be Gallery art directory ~ Now being seen around the world!

Edward is a landscape painter who paints in both oils and watercolour. He likes to paint scenes by the River Thames or cityscapes near where he lives in SW London.

He is a retired Chartered Engineer who took up painting in the 1990s and trained at local art schools in Richmond, Putney and Chelsea. He regularly exhibits at local art exhibitions in SW London and at the b Gallery in Toddington. His paintings are popular - being part-traditional, part-contemporary.

In 2011 he aims to try some different styles and to experiment with acrylic paints in addition to oils and watercolour. But he will continue to paint his figurative landscapes – usually en plein air – as well.

Daniel Coombes talents can be seen at b Gallery art directory.

Daniel followed a normal education course which included ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level art. For a degree he followed a course in Geology with Geographical Science (and map making). He obtained his Honours Degree in 1993.

Daniel belongs to the RSPB which has led to the production of a number of abstract art works based on bird plumage and the shimmering effects they make.

Understandably because of his background in Geology he produces colourful abstract works related to Geological Microscopy and rock types. Both of these styles of artwork are displayed in the gallery.

Christine Harrison exhibiting her wonderful work at b Gallery art directory ~ Which can be seen around the world!

I welcome commissions for paintings, portraits or mosaics - large or small, for private or public display. Please contact me if you see anything you like or if you would like to discuss a new project.

I have been painting and designing for as long as I can remember! My motivation is to capture feeling and transfer that feeling to the viewer. The world of nature is a continual source of inspiration and delight. Alongside this I have always been interested in the range of human experience; how each person interprets that range in a unique way as well as the commonalities of experience we all share.

My work is in a variety of media – acrylic, oils, pastel, collage, watercolour, mixed media and more recently mosaic art. I work at home in my studio and currently teach painting and mosaic techniques.

I welcome commissions for paintings, portraits and mosaics. I can use a wide variety of media and styles and will be happy to take your lead or supply ideas and inspiration which can be honed to your taste.

b Gallery art directory welcomes the amazing talents of Suzette Datema.

I was born and lived in South Africa for most of my life and since I started art classes I just became more and more passionate about painting. Blog by Maxine Harris: There is a kind of quintessential charm found in Suzette’s paintings. Her themes of love, forests and houses lead into her charm offensive, as she paints them the primary colours of red, blue and yellow (and their variants), reminding us of childhood, and adding to the quaint tone already implemented by her subjects. Suzette’s paintings play into the concept of lost Britain, “the way it used to be”. This is a concept which has been popularised by programmes such as Miss Marple, and reruns of The Last of the Summer Wine, showing countryside Britain, funny Britain, and simple Britain. We look to the past with rose-tinted spectacles and nostalgia-glistened thoughts, something captured so easily by the mist and simplicity of Suzette’s paintings.

b Gallery art directory welcomes the amazing talent of William Catlow

My jewellery collection "Pollen" is inspired by natural shapes found in seeds, leaves, buds, berries, even fruit and vegetables !

I use precious metals, predominantly silver and gold. The natural forms evolve into botanical shapes using materials chosen for their precious, permanent qualities.

The sweeping curves and elegant lines evoke an image between the natural and the abstract, creating a luxurious feeling for the wearer to enjoy.

To contact William ~ Please click on the link below where you will be taken directly to William's own exhibition area at b Gallery art directory ~ where he is exhibiting his art all around the world ~ Thank you
