Mosaic art is unique and captivating, drawing the onlooker into its gaze and touch.
I am a professional member of the British Association for Modern Mosaics. Using a large range of materials - glass, stone, slate, tile, jewelry and recycled objects, I turn my passion for contemporary mosaics into wall art and sculpture for home, garden, business and special occassions. You can buy pieces you see here or commission pieces. Dragonflies are made to order...(big and little!)
I also run workshops from my artist studio and publish tutorials and inspiration for mosaic making and creative living on my blog.
You can see more detailed photos of my work on my website here from where you can also jump to my blog where I write weekly about the making process, creativity, developing as an artist and creative parenting.

I am an artist based in Essex and a member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society. I specialise in portraiture, working to commission in both graphite and coloured pencil, but also exhibit and accept commissions for still life and landscape subjects.
Largely self-taught, I first exhibited in the 1990s when I was the only coloured pencil artist to show with the Barton Group of painters in Essex. I currently have work on permanent show in a gallery in Essex and have clients in England and America.
I enjoy the flexibility and subtlety of coloured pencil for figurative work. I find people endlessly fascinating as subjects and, although I relish the technical challenge of producing a good likeness, I try to find a way to get inside the character of every sitter. I believe a good portrait should produce a 'shock' of recognition that shows the artist has painted more than life.
I love the challenge of creating something new, of capturing something I have seen and passing it on for others to enjoy too. Painting is, for me, about seeing into things in a way that is fresh and immediate. It is a way of being in the world more fully.
Graphite portraits start at £120 and coloured pencil portraits at £140 (more than one sitter increases the cost)
Landscapes and still life subjects start at £140
Please contact me by email to discuss details of a commission.

A preview of Rolfs two mesmerising new limited editions, as well as a stunning new box set entitled 'Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport'. This is one of his best-loved songs, and... the original accompanying artworks which he created are vintage Rolf. As a unique collectors' item, the set brings together art, words, music and laughter in Rolf's own inimitable style.
It was a truly exciting day and a great pleasure to meet and chat to Rolf - Julie
